Privacy Policy
POXKA Budget & Expense Tracker (“POXKA”, “we”, “us”) is an expense-tracking app for iPhone. Your financial data is personal, so we keep it simple: your transactions live on your device and in your own iCloud account, and we only process what is needed to make features like voice logging and receipt scanning work.
1. Information you keep in the app
Transactions, accounts, categories, budgets, recurring payments and settings you create are stored on your device. If iCloud is enabled, they sync through Apple’s CloudKit to your private iCloud database. We cannot see or access this data. Apple’s handling of iCloud data is described in Apple’s privacy policy.
2. Information processed to provide features
- Voice logging. When you use voice entry, the microphone records your speech and Apple’s Speech framework turns it into text (this may happen on device or on Apple’s servers, depending on your device and language). For some languages, a short audio clip is sent through our server to a third-party speech-to-text provider and is not kept after the transcript is returned.
- Receipt and photo scanning. Text is read from a receipt or photo on your device using Apple’s Vision framework. Images you scan are not uploaded by us.
- Smart parsing. To turn a transcript or receipt text into transactions, the text (plus context such as your category names and currency) is sent to our server (Google Firebase Cloud Functions) and forwarded to OpenAI for processing. The result is returned to your device. We do not store these requests, and OpenAI does not use API data to train its models under its API terms.
- Financial plan setup. If you use the AI setup, the answers you give (such as income and goals) are processed the same way to generate a suggested budget.
- Location (optional). If you allow it, your location is used to tag where a transaction happened. It is stored with the transaction on your device and iCloud only.
- Face ID (optional). Used only to lock the app. Biometric data never leaves Apple’s Secure Enclave and is never available to us.
- Sign in with Apple (optional). If you sign in, Apple shares an anonymous user ID and, the first time, your name. Both are kept only in your device’s Keychain to personalize the app. We do not receive your email address, and nothing is stored if you continue without signing in.
- Apple Pay Shortcut (optional). If you install our Shortcut, the payment details passed by the Shortcuts app are used to create a transaction on your device.
3. Analytics, diagnostics and app configuration
We use Google Firebase Analytics and PostHog to understand how the app is used (for example, which screens are opened, which features are used, and subscription events), together with device information such as model, OS version, language and an app-specific identifier. Like any internet service, our providers also receive your device’s IP address when the app connects to them. We use this information to fix bugs, improve stability and performance, and make the app better. We use Firebase Remote Config to adjust app settings and Firebase App Check to protect our servers from abuse. We do not use analytics to read the contents of your transactions.
4. Advertising
The free version may show ads provided by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data to serve and measure ads. If you allow tracking through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt, your device’s advertising identifier may be used for personalized ads; if you decline, ads are not personalized based on tracking. You can change this any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. POXKA Pro removes ads.
5. Purchases
Subscriptions and purchases are processed by Apple. We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status; it receives an anonymous app user ID and purchase receipts, never your payment card details.
6. Service providers
| Provider | Purpose |

| Apple (iCloud/CloudKit, Speech, StoreKit) | Sync, speech recognition, purchases |

We do not sell your personal information.
7. Retention and deletion
Your financial data stays until you delete it. You can delete individual entries in the app, delete the app to remove local data, and remove the iCloud copy in iOS Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Storage. Analytics data is kept for a limited period by our providers under their retention policies. To ask us to delete analytics data linked to your device, contact us.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal information, and to object to processing. You can also withdraw consent at any time — for example, by turning off microphone, location or tracking access in iOS Settings. Contact us and we will respond within 30 days.
9. Children
POXKA is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
10. Security
Data in transit to our servers is encrypted with TLS, and our server functions only accept requests from genuine copies of the app. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.
11. Changes
We may update this policy. Changes take effect when posted on this page, and the date above will be updated. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
